Music in the City – Medieval Music on 20th March #BenedictineDays

Ever wondered what kind of music monks and nuns would have made? What kind of music would have echoes through our priory?

On the 20th March, for our Benedictine Days, we are joined by Pip Gascoigne-Pees, Gillian Yates, Stuart Mole, and Tony Yates to bring the medieval. sounds back into the building The quartet will sing sets of medieval music which could have been heard in St Nicholas Priory. Each set will begin with ancient plainsong, followed by music from the 10th – 12th centuries, finishing with polyphonic music before 1536!
