A Lightbear Lane Production
As one in a series of seasonal concerts, Music for the Snow Moon invites audiences to pause and appreciate beauty; the full moon is a perfect moment for an evening of flute and piano music with Duo Tutti, in the magical surroundings of St Nicholas Priory. Ruth Molins (flute, alto flute, bass flute) and Alex Wilson (piano) perform classical concerts with a twist: performing well-loved music plus unfamiliar works, with an opportunity to vote to hear a piece again.
There will be a bar downstairs and a small seasonal display of artwork relating to the concert by Dr Sarah Spencer.
Duo Tutti
Our friends Ruth Molins (flute) and Alex Wilson (piano) formed Duo Tutti in 2022 with two aims: to focus on new and neglected repertoire, and to make live classical music accessible to all. This aligns perfectly with Lightbear Lane’s priorities, so a partnership was quickly in the making. With a reputation for imaginative programming and engaging performance, they work with the charities Live Music Now, Libraries Unlimited and Vive La Musique, and have given hundreds of performances in concert and community settings across the South West. Released in 2025, their debut album Dances and Dreams – “Full of sparkle, character and precision” (British Flute Society) – includes newly commissioned compositions and artwork, and a piece for bass flute and piano by Ruth Molins.
Ruth Molins
Ruth studied music and English literature at Cardiff University, graduating with joint honours. Post-degree she continued her flute studies independently, receiving lessons from Anna Noakes, Michael Cox and Susie Hodder-Williams. She is a founding member of Flute Cake and Duo Tutti and has performed as a soloist with Exeter Symphony Orchestra and Dartmouth Orchestra as well as featured on Phonic FM, SoundArt Radio, BBC Radio Devon and BBC Radio 3. Projects have included: Flute@37 a series of intimate concerts given from her music studio and live-streamed performances of Koechlin, Chants du Nectaire connecting with a world-wide audience during the pandemic. Her immersive performance piece ‘Make Room’ toured Devon to critical acclaim. Ruth has worked with the team of Lightbear Lane for many years.
Alex Wilson
Alex is a pianist who performs as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician. A former British Contemporary Piano Competition finalist, he studied music at the University of York before graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2011.
He has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cadogan Hall in London and at the Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow.
He has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6 Music and regularly plays with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, UPROAR Wales new music ensemble and London Sinfonietta. Alex is a long-standing collaborator of Lightbear Lane.

Directions
St Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walking access from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.
The nearest car park is Mary Arches Street, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central railway station is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk with many buses stopping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.
Access
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this historic building, there is no wheelchair access for our upstairs rooms.
Facilities
