DESCRIPTION:England’s monasteries were at the cutting-edge of medieval mu
 sic-making. They perfected the haunting melody of plainchant and pioneered
  the rich and colourful performance of polyphony. On the eve of the Reform
 ation\, the most ambitious musicians – singers\, organists and composers
  – gravitated to the great\, old abbey churches.\n\nDrawing on the lates
 t research into this early music - which today is rarely heard live - Exet
 er University Chapel Choir present a programme which recreates the sound t
 hat filled these ancient buildings before Henry VIII’s Dissolution of th
 e Monasteries.\n\nDisabled Seating Available.\n\nDoors at 7pm for a 7:30 s
 tart.\n\nDirections\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walking acces
 s from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe nearest car park is 
 Mary Arches Street\, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central railway
  station is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk with 
 many buses stopping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.\n\nAcces
 s\nUnfortunately\, due to the nature of this historic building\, there is 
 no wheelchair access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacilities\nOur outdoor to
