DESCRIPTION:The Morley Consort presents an evening concert exploring the hi
 story of Devon - encompassing King Arthur\, Viking raids\, civil war and 
 climate change - performing music on historical instruments with narratio
 ns from period first-hand accounts. Performance made possible by funding 
 from the Continuo Foundation.\n\nNamed after Thomas Morley’s penchant fo
 r mixing instrument families\, the Morley Consort is an early music ensemb
 le dedicated to radical historical performance and applied research.The me
 mbers blend craftsmanship—including reconstructing experimental period i
 nstruments and bows—with rigorous primary source study to explore underr
 epresented repertoire\, historical pedagogy\, and performance norms. By ch
 allenging established conventions and sharing their discoveries through en
 gaging concert experiences\, the ensemble aims to bring fresh\, uncharted 
 sound-worlds to modern audiences.\n\nTickets £15\n\nDoors at 16:30 for a 
 17:00 start.\n\nDirections\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walkin
 g access from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe nearest car p
 ark is Mary Arches Street\, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central r
 ailway station is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk
  with many buses stopping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.\n\
 nAccess\nUnfortunately\, due to the nature of this historic building\, the
 re is no wheelchair access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacilities\nOur outd
