SUMMARY:Saint Nicholas - The Man\, The Myths and the Relics. A talk by Ben 
 Clapp
DESCRIPTION:Saint Nicholas\, most known as the origin of Santa Claus\, was 
 an historical saint\, though little is known about his life. Rather a vast
  amount of myths comprise much of what is known. Eight hundred years after
  his death\, his body was 'removed' from its tomb in Turkey and taken to I
 taly\, and from there a vast Western European cult of the saint began\, as
  well as parts of his body\, his 'relics' being scattered around the world
 . This talk by St Nicholas Priory History Group member Ben Clapp discusses
  the life\, the myths\, the relics of the Saint\, and its relation to our 
 own St Nicholas Priory.\n\nDoors at 6pm for 6:30 start. Refreshments inclu
 ded.\n\nDirections\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walking access
  from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe nearest car park is M
 ary Arches Street\, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central railway 
 station is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk with ma
 ny buses stopping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.\n\nAccess\
 nUnfortunately\, due to the nature of this historic building\, there is no
  wheelchair access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacilities\nOur outdoor toil
