DESCRIPTION:MOZART\, WEIR and SCHUBERT\nOpening with Mozart’s Duo for Vio
 lin and Viola in G major\, the audience is welcomed into a world of elegan
 t conversation between the two instruments\, full of clarity and charm. Th
 is is followed by Judith Weir’s The Bagpipers\, a lively and characterf
 ul string trio that draws on folk-inspired elements\, offering rhythmic en
 ergy and a distinctly modern voice. The programme culminates in Schubert
 ’s beloved “Trout” Quintet\, a masterpiece of warmth and lyricism\,
  where its famous variations shimmer with melodic beauty and playful inter
 play.\n\n\nThe music throughout the evening highlights the richness of cha
 mber writing\, from classical refinement to contemporary colour\, brought 
 to life by the Haldon Quartet: Lindsay Braga (violin)\, Andrew Gillett (vi
 ola)\, Rebecca Allnatt (cello)\, Michael Allnatt (double bass)\, and risin
 g young pianist Anton Pigott from Totnes. A recent winner of the Two Moo
 rs Festival 2026 and soon to take up a scholarship at the Royal Northern C
 ollege of Music\, Anton returns after his acclaimed performance of the M
 endelssohn Piano Concerto with the Haldon Ensemble last year\, bringing fr
 esh energy to one of the most celebrated works in the chamber repertoire.\
 n\nMozart Duo for Violin and Viola in G Major\n\nJudith Weir “The Bagpip
