DESCRIPTION:A brief look at the world of the Benedictines at St. Nicholas P
 riory and how the Monk’s Panels reflect the sacred architecture of monas
 tic surroundings. The talk will cover how the first two medieval gold bord
 er patterns were developed\, the Romanesque Gold Border and the Renaissanc
 e White Vine Border. There then follows a look at the creation of the Goth
 ic Angels Border\, the Medieval Saints Border and the Elizabethan Floral B
 order. Additionally\, the talk will cover how I worked to compliment the h
 istorical reconstruction drawings of Dr. Richard Parker and a brief look a
 t medieval paints and their sources.\nDoors are 2:30pm for a 2:50pm start.
 \n£12 Ticket price includes refreshments and a display of Judith's work.\
 nDirections\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walking access from F
 ore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe nearest car park is Mary Arc
 hes Street\, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central railway station
  is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk with many buse
 s stopping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.\n\nAccess\nUnfort
 unately\, due to the nature of this historic building\, there is no wheelc
 hair access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacilities\nOur outdoor toilet bloc
