 rmly to support their fundraiser!\n\nFundraiser talk by Chris R\, independ
 ant researcher in Exeter.\n\nThe exceptional impact of the Reverend George
  Oliver D.D. (1781—1861) on Exeter and its people is little known. This 
 talk gives you an opportunity to acquaint yourself with his most remarkabl
 e life. He was a humanitarian\, antiquarian\, historian and author who liv
 ed and worked from what had been the refractory wing of the priory (depict
 ed in the illustration below) between the years 1807—1861.\n\nTickets £
 15.00\, refreshments included.\n\nSt Nicholas Priory: Founded by William t
 he Conqueror in 1087\, St Nicholas Priory was home to Benedictine monks fo
 r over 400 years and is the oldest building in Exeter. In 1536\, like othe
 r monasteries\, it was closed and the remains became the home of wealthy T
 udor merchants.\n\nDirections: St Nicholas Priory is in Mint Lane with wal
 king access from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\nThe nearest car 
 park is Mary Arches Street (5 mins). Parking at Smythen Street and Harlequ
 in Shopping Centre is also available. Exeter Central railway station (10 m
 ins). The bus station is a 15-minute walk away with many buses stopping on
  the High Street (1o mins).\n\nAccess: Unfortunately\, only the ground flo
 or of our building is wheelchair-accessible.\n\nFacilities: Accessible loo
