DESCRIPTION:Come and join us at St Nicholas Priory as we celebrate the open
 ing day of the Festival of Archaeology.\nDo you know that long before the 
 Priory was built in 1087\, the site was part of the Roman military fortres
 s of the Second Augustan Legion and later Roman civilian town? Or that the
  Priory buildings that still stand are only a small part of the original m
 edieval site\, the extent of which was revealed through excavations in the
  1970s onwards?\nLearn all about us and more on our opening festival day.\

 ctions\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint Lane with walking access from Fore S
 treet or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe nearest car park is Mary Arches S
 treet\, which is a five-minute walk. Exeter Central railway station is a
  ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 15-minute walk with many buses sto
 pping on the High Street which is ten minutes away.\n\nAccess\nUnfortunate
 ly\, due to the nature of this historic building\, there is no wheelchair 
 access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacilities\nOur outdoor toilet block can
