In this "herbology class"\, we'll be looking at home-grown herb al medicines and how to preserve them. Professor Radstone has dug out an o ld apothecary's box with vials for potions and other unidentifiable substa nces (sure I saw Eye of Newt somewhere...) and there'll be other historica l medical instruments to experiment with...\n\nWhat to expect: Our kitchen will turn into a potions classroom where Professor Radstone from the Devo n &\; Exeter Medical Heritage Trust will lead a children's session abou t the uses of herbs that can be found in garden\, park and lane. We'll loo k at identifying them\, preserving them and what they can be used for. A p layful introduction to natural remedies with more than a hint of a magical Harry-Potter-style lesson for ages 6+\n\nWe'll provide cloaks for the chi ldren\, and encourage dressing up to add to the fun. At the end of the ses sion\, each child will get a certificate of attendance to take away. There 'll be the option to make a wizard badge for an extra fee after the worksh op.
