 fth Night in 2023-2026\, Alex Wilson is delighted to be returning to St Ni
 cholas Priory this Christmas season with a New Year's Concert! We will tak
 e a musical tour through the songs and folk traditions of Europe at Christ
 mas\; singing\, baking and dancing our way through nearly 200 years of mus
 ical storytelling.\nAudiences can expect an intimate concert experience\, 
 featuring some of the most popular pieces alongside some exciting new addi
 tions from composers including Liszt and Dohnanyi. Our journey features tr
 aditional celebrations from the UK to Romania\, taking in Hungary\, Finlan
 d and everywhere in between.  We will hear music by Sadie Harrison based 
 on beautiful seasonal melodies from Ukraine\, and an intimate retelling of
  the Christmas story using traditional French carols.\nPoignant\, simple m
 elodies and lively\, celebratory sound worlds\, shining light on beautiful
  music that deserves to be heard.  This is Christmas described in soft\, 
 delicate tones – without sleigh bells and tinsel but full of discovery\,
  familiarity and warmth.\n\nAlex Wilson\nAlex Wilson is a pianist who perf
 orms as a soloist\, accompanist and chamber musician. A former British Con
 temporary Piano Competition finalist\, he studied music at the University 
 of York before graduating from the Royal College of Music in 2011.\nHe has
  performed at venues including Wigmore Hall\, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cad
 ogan Hall in London and at the Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow.\nHe has appeare
 d on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6 Music and regularly plays with Bournemout
 h Symphony Orchestra\, BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales\, UPROAR
  Wales new music ensemble and London Sinfonietta.\n\nDoors at 4:30pm for a
  5pm start.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nDirections\nSt Nicholas Priory is on Mint La
 ne with walking access from Fore Street or Bartholomew Street West.\n\nThe
  nearest car park is Mary Arches Street\, which is a five-minute walk. Ex
 eter Central railway station is a ten-minute walk. The bus station is a 
 15-minute walk with many buses stopping on the High Street which is ten mi
 nutes away.\n\nAccess\nUnfortunately\, due to the nature of this historic 
 building\, there is no wheelchair access for our upstairs rooms.\n\nFacili
